I. Giới thiệu.
Quantitative Finance (QF) / Financial Engineering (FE) (nếu bạn chưa biết QF là gì, xin nhấn vào đây) là một môn khoa học liên ngành và phát triển mạnh ở các nước tiên tiến trên thế giới. Tại Việt Nam, ngày càng có nhiều người quan tâm đến đầu tư chứng khoán và Tài Chính nói chung. Do đó, nhu cầu về Quantitative Analysis cũng đang tăng đáng kể.

Cũng vì thế, trong vài năm vừa qua, ngày càng có nhiều sinh viên và nghiên cứu sinh Việt Nam theo học QF và các ngành liên quan. Cho nên, VN Quantitative Finance Society ra đời với các mục tiêu:

1. Xây dựng network để trao đổi, giúp đỡ lẫn nhau giữa những người có cùng sở thích
2. Thúc đẩy sự phát triển của Quantitative Finance ở Vietnam
3. Làm cầu nối giữa những sinh viên/học giả và những nhà đầu tư cũng như các ngân hàng/công ty tài chính
4. Tư vấn sinh viên về nghề nghiệp cũng như về du học ngành QF hoặc những ngành liên quan (như Toán Ứng Dụng, Khoa Học Máy Tính, Vật Lý, Khoa Học Thống Kê, ...) tại các nước phát triển.

Diễn đàn này chỉ là hòn gạch đầu tiên trong việc xây dựng một cộng đồng QF ở VN. Tùy vào nhu cầu và khả năng của các thành viên mà chúng ta có thể tổ chức hội nghị hằng năm hoặc các hoạt động khác trong tương lai.


II. Ngôn ngữ: tiếng Anh sẽ là ngôn ngữ chính của diễn đàn mặc dù thành viên có thể post bài bằng tiếng Việt nếu cảm thấy thoải mái hơn.


III. Quy định diễn đàn.

1. Website này được xây dựng nhằm phục vụ cộng đồng nghề nghiệp và tạo network. Do đó, các thành viên đều phải khai báo tên thật và một số thông tin bắt buộc khác (không viết tắt) khi đăng ký. Quản trị viên có quyền xóa những accounts không khai báo hợp lý (và không chỉnh sửa) sau 1 tuần.
2. Thành viên có thể sử dụng tiếng Anh hoặc tiếng Việt trên diễn đàn. Nếu dùng tiếng Việt, thành viên phải sử dụng tiếng Việt có dấu (xem tại đây để biết thêm về cách gõ tiếng Việt trên diễn đàn).
3. Để hạn chế nội dung trùng lặp, thành viên nên sử dụng chức năng Tìm Kiếm của diễn đàn trước khi tạo một topic mới.
4. Thành viên cần đăng những bài phù hợp với mục tiêu của diễn đàn. Những bài không phù hợp có thể bị di chuyển hoặc xóa mà không cần báo trước.

I. Vision

Quantitative Finance/Financial Engineering (click here to read what QF is about) is a disciplinary and fast growing field in the world. In Vietnam, there are more and more people interested in Finance and Investments due to many reasons. Therefore, the demand of applying Quantitative Analysis in Finance also increases significantly. When the financial market becomes mature in the near future, Quantitative Analysis will be an obvious important part, like in any developed countries.

For the past few years, we also have observed an increase in number of Vietnamese students and scholars in this exciting field. Thus, this website is founded with the following missions:

1. Build a network of people who are interested in Quantitative Finance and create a facility for networking/discussions among these fellows.
2. Promote Quantitative Finance in Vietnam
3. Build a bridge between Academics and Financial Companies
4. Help new students on career paths and on studying Quantitative Finance (or related fields such as Applied Math, Computer Science, Physics, Economics, Finance, etc.) in developed countries.

We hope this will give us chance to know each other on professional level, and if possible, on personal level as well. Due to the interdisciplinary nature of QF, we also hope that this society will foster collaborations among researchers with different expertises, which is a current research trend nowadays.

This forum is just the first building stone of the society. Depending on the demand and our ability, we may organize annual conferences or have other activities in the future.


II. Language. English is the official language of the forum. However, members are allowed posting in Vietnamese (with full accents) if it is more convenient.


III. Regulations.

1. This website is dedicated to serve a professional community and to build a close network of quants. Hence, everyone is required to enter his/her real name and other mandatory information (no abbreviations) when registering for membership. The administrators reserve the right to delete any account that doesn't follow this policy after 1 week of registration.
2. Members can use either English or Vietnamese on the forum. Other languages are also okay depending on specific discussions.
3. In order to avoid many duplicate topics, members are encouraged to use the Search function before creating a new thread.

Members' profiles. in order to protect members' information from being viewed by spies or registered strangers, we've implemented a new restriction. From now, only trusted members can view other members' profiles.

Who are trusted members: members with at least 30 posts and 30 days of registration or members with high respect from others.

Registration. We will also moderate new members' registration to make sure they are not lost in this club.
