Default McKinsey invite to apply for summer positions

Are you passionate about solving complex problems to create sustainable and substantial
value to most influential organizations and businesses in the world? Are you a problem
solver and go-getter, a what-if kind of thinker who likes to look at all sides of a
challenge? If so, you might like to meet others like yourself at McKinsey & Company.

McKinsey & Company is an international consulting firm that advises top management of
leading corporations, nonprofit institutions, and government agencies on issues of
strategy, organization, and operations. McKinsey, founded in 1926, has over 6,500
consultants in 83 offices in 45 countries. A career with McKinsey will offer you the
opportunity to learn from every assignment, to become an authority in your field, to face
challenging and often unstructured situations, and to work with exciting, talented people
in a dynamic team environment.

Today, with a focus on fundamental strength and bottom-line results, 60 percent of CEOs
surveyed by McKinsey say that achieving operational excellence is their top priority.
McKinsey's Operations Practice is filled with people who are defining new standards of
world class operations excellence.

In the past 5 years, we completed more than 1,800 operations projects and have more than
300 operations consultants worldwide. Currently, approximately 30 percent of our work in
North America is in operations.

Our Operations Practice is comprised of service lines aligned along the following
functional areas:

Manufacturing

Purchasing and Supply Management

Service Operations

Supply Chain Management

Product Development

The Operations Practice is currently seeking Analyst recruits in our Atlanta, Chicago,
and Orange County locations. *Our Chicago office will be hosting our Summer Analyst
Program in 2008.* This program will allow you to experience first hand what it is like
to be a BA in the operations practice. You will be staffed on a client engagement within
the operations practice. This means you will work closely with McKinsey leadership and
clients to solve complex operational problems.

We look for exceptional ability and a track record of accomplishment. We're most
interested in innate qualities -- problem-solving, personal impact, achieving, and
leadership -- that makes a lasting difference.

McKinsey is organized into industry and functional practices to do two things: to

critical mass of expertise. This allows us to deliver specific and tailored services to
our clients. Operations consultants help companies face their toughest business and
operational challenges. They bring a full set of consulting skills, a broad range of
experiences, and cutting-edge operations knowledge.

Our work is expansive - we serve a wide range of industrial, process, and
service-oriented companies. From hospitals, to chemicals manufacturers, to retail banks,
to consumer electronics manufacturers, we can help any organization align operations with
strategy.

Candidates should consider the Operations Practice if they desire a steady diet of
operations work, possess broad-based operations capabilities, and have a passion for
operations topics. As an Operations consultant, you can expect to develop distinctive
leadership through training across a range of operations topics and/or developing deep
expertise in one functional area.
